Only one week to go!

Only one week to go!

There’s only one week to go, which means that our registration system is now closed, so we can make up your name badges and get everything ready for the big weekend!

You can still check out the game list , so you can think about any changes you want to make, or convince some friends to come!

Here are a few things you can do while waiting for PrairieCon to get here!

  1. CHECK OUT THE SPONSORS!
The Sponsorship posts are rolling out on our social media, check them out, give the posts a like and visit their stores when you get a chance! It’s thanks to all of these sponsors and our vendors that our raffles and prizes are as abundant as they are!
  2. GET YOUR GAMES READY FOR THE AUCTION
Now’s the time to start going through your game libraries, and set aside the games you want to list in the auction, and start filling out your auction sheets! Visit our auction page and download the auction sheet here.
  3. CALL YOUR FRIENDS!
Call your friends and get them to come on out to PrairieCon! Our DND Tournament has very few spaces left, but there are spaces! Our cosplay event on Saturday has room, or you can grab a buddy and get your Warhammer 40k army out and come sign up for the Prairiecon Pairs Warhammer 40k Tournament!
There’s only two weeks to go!

There’s only two weeks to go!

That’s right y’all, there are only two weeks to go until PrairieCon is here, and we want to give you an update on a few things:

#1 – Game Submission is closing on Saturday at Noon

We have a mountain of games for this year’s convention. In fact we are just shy of having 300 games, which is 50 more than last year! There are over 50 role-playing games, almost 200 different board games, over 20 miniature games, and over 20 different card games!

But there’s room for just a little bit more, as long as you get them in by Saturday at noon. 🤓

#2 – Volunteering at PrairieCon

WOW, you all are so amazing. Since we added volunteering to the registration system, you folks have filled up nearly every. single. slot. So, first of all, THANK YOU! And second of all, we are looking for just a few more (under 4). If you have time to jump in on one of those last slots, that would be super!

#3 – Bring your friends!

We’re close to having a record-breaking year (Yeah, we said that last year, but we’re close again this year!) If you have some friends that are still on the fence (like the gobling in our poster) tell them to giddyup and get going on over to our Registation system and sign up! There’s plenty of great games to sign up for!

#4 – Come cosplay your heart out

We brought Cosplay back this year, and we’re hoping to see you get your costumes out! Grab those lightsabers, snag those Vulcan ears, get your witches wands and get your homemade armour out and come sign up for some cosplay!

#5 – Warhammer 40K

Once again, PrairieCon is hosting a Warhammer 40k tournament, this time it’s a pairs tournament. So get that army off the shelf, find a friend, and head on over to Best Coast Pairing to sign up!

  • When the stage walk is finished, the judges will announce the winner and award the first, second and third place prizes for each category!

The Prizes are (for each category):

  1. First place gets a $75 gift card to Michael’s
  2. Second place gets a $50 gift card to Michael’s
  3. Third place gets a $25 gift card to Michael’s

Visitors can watch the event, but you will need to buy at least a Saturday badge to participate and dress up.

The PrairieCon Cosplay is an all-ages event, so please exercise discretion in the costume you choose, how it’s constructed and how you act.

The cosplay contest and stage walk will take place in the middle of the venue.

When you buy your badge, you’ll also have to get a ticket for the Cosplay event (tickets are free – make sure you checkout).

Your badge is your entry into all of PrairieCon, not just the Cosplay Event, so feel free to sign up for other games to play!

Wow, what a great start!
