The Canadian Settlers of Catan Championships are in Brandon, MB this June! Come to PrairieCon XXXVII, Manitoba’s longest running tabletop gaming convention to join us for our premier event as convention go-ers compete for a chance at the grand prize: a trip to Durango, Colorado for the Catan World Championships, Sept 23rd – 25th. This is a prize worth over $1500 (airfare, hotel and registration) and only the first 48 people to enter will be able to play! Entry is only a click away by visiting our website at https://www.prairiecon.com/catan-national-tournament/ and clicking on the register button. You can only pre-register for the tournament until May 29 so get clicking.

Contest Rules: Must be a Canadian resident aged 18 or over. Your Facebook profile must have privacy settings that enable other Facebook users to message you. Each person that both Likes and Shares the post that contain these rules has their name put into a random draw each week chance of winning the prizes on May 20th, 27th and finally the last draw on May the 29th. Entrants will be contacted via Facebook messaging to inform them if they have won. Each winner will be shipped One (1) Settlers of Catan boardgame; the winning entrant must supply a shipping address to ship the prize to. Date for arrival of prize is subject to a waiting period after the PrairieCon convention in Brandon, MB concludes, after June 5th. Shipping times will vary upon winner’s region. Shipping address must be Canadian.

Game Masters and Volunteers Needed

As we’re getting ready for the big convention in June, one of our biggest challenges is offering enough games and also a good variety of games for our registrants. PrairieCon is looking for volunteers to help run a game or two during the weekend. There are many little perks to running your own games (prize draws, food, t-shirt, free registration). It is also a great opportunity to play a game you’ve been dying to get others to play with you, set up an event you’ve been wanting to do or just to connect with fellow tabletop gamers in your area. March 12 Gamesday

Come over to the Central Community Centre located at 525 4th St., Brandon MB between 10am – 10pm for one of our free gamesdays. Many others with their own favourite games will be there so stop in for a while and join in on the fun! Anyone is welcome to attend, especially if they haven’t been to a Prairiecon or gamesday before. Just look for people in redshirts or people behind the canteen can help you if you have any questions.
