Gamesdays are an informal gathering of gamers interested in getting out to meet new people and play some new (or old) games. There is no registraion, slots or pre-arranged games - just drop in and play! All players are welcome to join. Although the drop-in nature of the event tends to lend itself best to board games, we generally have some Magic and Warhamer games going as well. The canteen will be open, a few vendors are usually in attendance, and there is a good selection of games from which to choose (we do encourage you to bring your own games as well). This year, we will be asking for donations ($2) in lieu of a mandatory fee in order to cover increased venue costs.
Spring Gamesday will be March 24, 2012 at the St. Matthews Anglican Church.
PrairieCon XXXIII's Winter Gamesday will be held on January 14th at the St. Matthews Anglican Church, located on 403 13th Street (corner of 13th and Louise.) Gamesday hours will be 12:30 - midnight.
Why the change in venue for the Gamesdays, you ask? The one-day events have gotten to be so popular that we felt a larger space was required. Unfortunately, the venue does require us to start a bit later (12:30) and will require us to ask for a $2 donation from participants in order to cover a bit of an increase in cost. However, the additional space means that we can accomodate more role-playing games throughout the day, and we can have adequate space for larger Warhammer 40k games.
